My job as your counselor is to help you reconnect with your true self, in mind, body, and spirit.
So much of our pain comes from our response to what has happened to us. Our brains and bodies are hardwired to protect us and this instinct is what allows so many to survive moments of pain, uncertainty, or trauma. While these reactions help us in crisis, they often don’t serve us in the long run. Instead, we end up feeling disconnected from ourselves and others.
Fortunately, our brains and bodies are also hardwired to heal. In our work together, we will go beyond traditional talk therapy and use a variety of mind-body modalities to tap into the body's natural healing systems. Some of my therapeutic techniques include: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), tapping (EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique), breathwork, somatic movement, IFS (Internal Family Systems), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), as well as trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches. By using the natural bridge that exists between the mind and the body, we will find our way back to the core of who you are, the you that has been there all along waiting to break free from the chains of the past. My passion lies here – in helping individuals foster the often-forgotten relationship they have with themselves.
We all want to be seen, to be heard, to know that we matter. This is at the core of everything I do. I believe trust, connection, acceptance, and belonging are at the center of healing, which is why it is a foundational element of my approach to counseling. You are not in this alone. I view myself as your collaborator and active participant.
If you are struggling with trauma/abuse, unhealthy relationships (including domestic violence, victims only), anxiety, life transitions or codependency/boundaries issues, reach out to me. Together we will work through what has been holding you back so you can move forward as the truest version of yourself.
